Location:
Larchmont, NY (Virtual/Remote)
Compensation: ~ $30/hour
Schedule:
Part-time, with opportunity to ramp to full-time as the practice grows
Ellie Mental Health Larchmont is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Client Services & Billing Specialist to join our revenue cycle team. This role blends insurance billing and client-facing support in a fast-growing behavioral health practice.
You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate claims processing, timely collections, and a positive financial experience for our clients while partnering closely with clinicians and administrative leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Submit primary and secondary insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner.
- Review, research, and resolve denied or rejected claims; follow up with payers as needed.
- Manage aging reports and pursue unpaid claims to resolution.
- Respond to patient billing questions and explain balances clearly and professionally.
- Verify insurance eligibility, obtain authorizations, and post payments.
- Secure and manage prior authorizations when required.
- Assist with audits, month-end reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams on documentation, coding accuracy, and billing workflows.
- Minimum of 2 years of medical billing experience, preferably in behavioral or mental health.
- Strong working knowledge of CPT codes, ICD-10 coding, insurance billing rules, and full-cycle revenue operations.
- Experience with EHR or practice management systems required;
Valant EHR experience strongly preferred. - Familiarity with major payers including BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Medicare, and Medicaid.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a high level of professionalism.
