About the Role

Are you a strategic leader with a passion for driving large-scale transformation in mental health services? We are seeking an expert Senior Programme Manager to join the Thames Valley Mental Health Provider Collaborative for a 12-month secondment / fixed term role.

Location: Travel across Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire. Flexible and home working will be available but there is an expectation of travel to sites.

Hours: 30–37.5 hours per week

Main duties of the job
  • Transformational Leadership: Design and deliver large-scale change programmes identified in the Collaborative’s business plan.
  • Clinical

    Collaboration:

    Work closely with clinicians and system partners to ope rationalise new service models, including any digital requirements.
  • Expert Resource: Act as a lead expert in project management, sharing best practices and supporting staff development.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Navigate highly complex issues with internal and external stakeholders, including executive teams and commissioners, to overcome resistance to change.
  • Strategic Management: Autonomously manage programme budgets, work plans and performance monitoring to ensure all outcomes meet quality standards and timelines.
About you
  • Education: Master’s degree level (or equivalent experience) in a related discipline.
  • Experience: Significant experience leading large-scale clinical change programmes and managing complex budgets within a healthcare setting.
  • Skills: Exceptional negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate sensitive or complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Mindset: A strategic thinker who can maintain effective partnerships across geographical and professional boundaries.
