Senior Healthcare Support Worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time permanent Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) to join an established and welcoming Crisis Assessment and Treatment Service, based in Stranraer. The post holder will have a key role in providing support to patients during periods of mental health crisis, which will include contributing to assessment, risk management and supporting people to remain at home, by providing intensive home treatment.

Relevant training will be provided to the successful candidate.

The post holder will support the nursing team in the delivery of care and be part of a larger multi-disciplinary team focused on joint working to deliver safe high quality care. The focus will be on promoting self care and recovery whilst enabling people with mental health problems to be as independent as possible.

Team priorities include collaborative working, patient enablement, care assurance and strength based approach for patients. The successful candidate will be based at Innistaigh in Stranraer, but will support people in their homes throughout the Wigtownshire area. The post holder will work in partnership with service users, families, carers and other agencies.

This post will provide opportunity for personal development and growth in a friendly, experienced and supportive team. Full supervision, mentoring and training will be provided.
