Barchester Healthcare is seeking an experienced Operational Trainer to join their team. This home-based position will involve providing induction and development training to care homes and hospitals across a specific region. OverviewOperational Trainer role description as provided: the trainer coordinates and delivers induction and development training to new and existing staff across multiple care homes and hospitals, including hands-on, practical training, creating training calendars, maintaining training records, and coaching new team members. Strong working knowledge of the legislative requirements in the care sector, plus excellent communication and coaching skills, are required.
Responsibilities• Coordinate and deliver induction and development training to staff across a number of care homes/hospitals within a specific region.
• Provide practical, hands-on training across a variety of subjects.
• Plan and publish training calendars.
• Maintain up-to-date employee training files.
• Coach and support new team members and observe workplace practice.
• Arrange induction paperwork and assign a buddy before a new employee starts.
• Maintain regular contact with new team members to support development.
• Attend meetings and external conferences as required.
• Promote learning and development opportunities offered by Barchester.
• Work with Home Managers to implement individual personal development plans.

Job responsibilitiesBarchester have an exciting opportunity for an Operational Trainer to become one of two trainers serving a number of care homes in the region. Operational Trainers provide induction and development training to circa 5 homes and/or hospitals across a specific region. As one of the initial points of contact between Barchester and a new member of staff, Trainers should demonstrate passion for their role and the Barchester ethos.
This varied position provides the opportunity to witness the progression of staff from their first day through their career. This is a home-based position that will involve travel around a specific region. Requirements include:
Diploma level 3 in Health & Social Care or experience working in the social care sector; working knowledge of legislative requirements in care sector; 2 years training experience;
Full UK driving licence. The role involves coordination and delivery of induction and development training aligned to Barchester objectives and training statistics; delivering practical training; planning training calendars; maintaining training files; arranging induction paperwork and buddying; regular coaching and support; attending external meetings when required; promoting development opportunities; and collaborating with Home Managers on personal development plans. Specification Qualifications
- C&G 7300 (or equivalent) qualification, Diploma level 3 in Health & Social Care or experience in the social care sector; at least 2 years of training experience; full UK driving licence.
