Position: LJR239025 - Specialist Pharmacist
Location: Aberdeen City

Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a registered pharmacist to join the Pharmacotherapy teams working across Aberdeenshire. The post holder will join a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians and be key to the ongoing provision of the pharmacotherapy service and promoting quality, cost-effective prescribing of medicines. The post holder will support GP practices and community hospitals, covering all aspects of medicines management in line with local and national guidelines.

Cluster

and Hours

Banff & Fraserburgh cluster covering GP practices & community hospitals in Banff, Portsoy & Fraserburgh. Full Time/Part Time Opportunities (minimum 3 days), Monday to Friday. The post includes onsite working in GP Practices and/or remote working from an agreed base (discuss options with one of the Lead Pharmacists). A full driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

The post holder will be part of the Pharmacotherapy team and will contribute to the ongoing provision of pharmacotherapy services, promoting quality, cost-effective prescribing of medicines. You will support GP practices and community hospitals with medicines management in line with local and national guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience

You may have a community or hospital pharmacy background. Good communication, interpersonal and time management skills are essential. Experience of working within Primary Care, medicines management and audit would be an advantage. Independent Prescriber training would be supported if not already achieved.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week.
