Position OverviewThe Purchasing Director is responsible for leading the Company’s procurement and sourcing operations for medical devices,diagnostic equipment, and healthcare-related products. The role oversees strategic vendor management, regulatory-compliant procurement processes, cost control, and supply chain risk management to ensure uninterrupted business operations in Singapore and overseas markets.
This position requires senior-level decision-making authority and extensive experience in regulated medical device procurement.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement procurement strategies for medical devices and healthcare products in compliance with Singapore HSA regulations and Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standards.
- Lead contract negotiations with international manufacturers andOEM suppliers, including pricing, supply terms, and service agreements.
- Conduct supplier evaluation, audits, and performance management toensure quality, compliance, and cost efficiency.
- Oversee inventory planning, demand forecasting, and supply chainrisk mitigation strategies.
- Manage procurement budget, cost analysis, and financial reporting to senior management.
- Establish procurement policies, internal controls, and standard operating procedures.
- Supervise and lead the procurement and supply chain team.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
- At least 8 years of relevant procurement experience, including 5years in a managerial or director-level role.
- Experience in medical device or regulated healthcare industry.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore medical device regulatory framework and international supplier management.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic sourcing and contract negotiation.
