An opportunity has arisen to join the Acute Occupational Therapy Team at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary as a bank Support worker.
You will provide assistance to the Registered OT. In addition you will be allocated a patient caseload where the expectation is to implement and modify existent treatment plans, within your scope of practice, in order to achieve positive outcomes for the patients.
You will be expected to liaise with patients, carers and external sources therefore excellent communication skills are required.
You should be able to demonstrate the ability to multi‑task in a busy environment and be able to organise your caseload.
You may be requested to undertake non‑clinical duties within the department.
The OT team provides a supportive learning environment through regular supervision and training.
This post is a bank ‘as and when’ contract with no guaranteed hours. You may be asked to work during the week but also at weekends and on public holidays.

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
