Senior Educational Psychologist – London Borough of Newham
£68,086 – £72,095 (All Soulbury scales plus inner London weighting and SPA points will be honoured).

As a consultation service, we prioritise collaboration with parents and other professionals to make psychology accessible to all.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Educational Psychologist to contribute to our leadership team and provide management support. The role will develop and lead service initiatives, project work, and strategic priorities across the borough.
Responsibilities- Deliver evidence-based, high-quality psychological services to children, young people and families.
- Develop and implement early intervention strategies, therapeutic techniques, and psychological assessments.
- Provide systemic consultation, supervision, and reflective supervision to colleagues.
- Lead and support team developments such as emotion coaching, ELSA training, EBSA, trauma‑informed practice and critical incident support.
- Manage and contribute to strategic initiatives and community projects including Youth Empowerment Service, CHAND, and Video Interaction Guidance.
- Collaborate with mainstream and special schools, colleges, child development services, universities, and statutory agencies.
- Act as a lead on service development and project work, and support broader borough strategic priorities.
- Professionally qualified educational psychologist and registered with the HCPC.
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
- Experience as an educational psychologist – at least 5 years (or equivalent).
- Strong commitment to supporting the inclusion of vulnerable children and young people.
- Experience in managing and developing practice; reflective supervision experience.
- Creative, flexible, and solution‑focused.
- Able to work successfully within a multi‑disciplinary team and build positive relationships with practitioners and partners.
- Desire to share and apply knowledge and skills as a psychologist in a managerial position.
