We are looking for an enthusiastic dietitian with good team working skills to help expand our multidisciplinary specialist weight management team. We are excited to be increasing our delivery of GLP1 medications and this role will be integral in supporting this.
The post holder will have the opportunity to provide specialist dietetic support to patients in both the medical and surgical services. You will work closely with psychologists, endocrinologists, surgeons and specialist nurses.
We have embraced hybrid working and are happy to accommodate flexible working patterns.
We are a close team who are consistently working to change and improve our service to provide the best possible care for our patients while working as efficiently as possible. We have developed a hybrid model of in person and remote delivery of services. Provide specialist dietetic input to patients living with obesity in both the medical and surgical weight management teams
Work with patients individually and in a group setting both in person and remotely

Skilled use of behaviour change and motivational interviewing communication styles
Be a supportive and flexible member of the dietetic team and an active participant in the wider MDT

Provide specialist dietetic input to patients in the medical weight management service through individual and group work
Delivery of the mood and food group run jointly with psychology
Initiation and management of patients on GLP1 medications
Provide pre-operative education and counselling for patients considering bariatric surgery
Develop knowledge and skills in dietetic support of patients who have had bariatric surgery
Involvement in service development including resource production and quality improvement projects
Provide a mix of telephone, video and face to face appointments.
Work closely with the wider MDT, attend weekly MDT meetings and monthly service meetings
Person Specification Education- Current registered dietitian status with HCPC
- Post-graduate training in communication and behaviour change skills
- Attendance at or completion of post-graduate training course or conference attendance related to obesity
- Have achieved or be working towards minimum of second gateway of Band 5 in post dealing with patients where behaviour change is necessary
- Detailed knowledge of common clinical conditions and best dietetic management of patients with obesity
- Advanced ability to use reassurance, negotiation, motivational approaches and behaviour change skills appropriately
- Evidence of time management skills, ability to prioritise work, complete projects and meet deadlines
- Recent experience of working in a Tier 3 and 4 weight management service
- Empathic and compassionate attitude towards people living with obesity

£38,682 to £46,580 a year per annum, pro rata for part time roles
