We are looking for an experienced and driven individual to join our Sustainability and Procurement team, supporting NHS Wales in achieving its Net Zero and social value goals.
In this role, you will help shape and implement sustainable procurement policies that decarbonise healthcare supply chains, embed social value, and address modern slavery. You will work closely with procurement professionals, health boards, suppliers, and national stakeholders to influence policy, drive innovation, and promote best practice across the system.
As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in delivering NHS Wales' Net Zero ambition and broader sustainability objectives. Your work will directly contribute to improving the health and wellbeing of people in Wales through ethical and sustainable supply chains.
We're seeking someone with a proven track record of leading change in organisations, with expertise in sustainability, procurement, and stakeholder engagement. Strong communication skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships are essential.

Main duties of the jobAre you passionate about sustainability and ready to lead transformative change in healthcare procurement? NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP) is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to take on the role of Sustainable Procurement and Net Zero Manager.
This role supports strategic leadership at the heart of NHS Wales' commitment to achieving net zero carbon emissions and embedding social value across its supply chains. You will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering sustainable procurement policy, supporting health boards and national partners to meet Welsh Government targets and the ambitions of the Well-being of Future Generations Act.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post;
Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
- Subject matter expertise across a number of key areas relating to Sustainable Procurement, including sustainable supply chains
- Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
- Member of a sustainability institution, association or body, e.g. Society of the Environment Chartered Environmentalist.
- In depth additional specialist knowledge acquired in the following area(s);
Sustainable Development;
Carbon reduction, Modern Slavery and labour standards;
Social Value; and Procurement. - Extensive knowledge of specialist areas acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to master's level equivalent.
