Each Tangata will have individual care requirements, and you will support them with all elements of daily living. No qualifications or prior experience are required, as we provide comprehensive training to ensure all Kaiāwhina | Support Workers are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need.

• Available hours include: 7 am–12 pm and/or 4 pm–8 pm, Monday–Sunday. Working both weekends preferred.
• Need to be willing to drive between both Napier and Hastings areas.

Paid training! Our Kaiāwhina Skills Framework training takes place during your first two‑to‑four weeks of employment and is a mixture of practical training, online self‑directed learning, and working with a buddy trainer.

We cover the basics of support including:

• Infection prevention control
• Moving and handling
• Medication management
• Practical tasks including personal cares, compression therapy, meal preparation etc.
• Policies and procedures

• Genuinely love working with people who need support and seeing them thrive.
• Be intuitive and responsive to people's feelings and needs.
• Own a smartphone.
• The right to work in New Zealand.
• Full/restricted driver's licence.
• Be available to work every second weekend.

• $1.00 per hour extra in your pay for weekend work!
