We're offering an exciting fixed-term opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our integrated stroke unit, covering maternity leave in 2026.
This is a unique chance to deepen your expertise across the entire inpatient stroke pathway -- from hyperacute and acute care through to rehabilitation and recovery. You'll be part of a team passionate about delivering outstanding outcomes and ensuring every patient receives truly person-centred care.

Person SpecificationKnowledge and Skill Requirements
- Sound Clinical knowledge of core conditions and applied therapy techniques
- Ability to prioritise & work under pressure
- As an autonomous practitioner, is able to work as a team member as well as alone but with access to a more senior colleague
- Knowledge of NHS procedures, policies and guidelines
- Ability to formulate and develop specialised individual treatment programmes and ability in using clinical reasoning skills based on current best practice
- BSc (Hons) or Graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy / Occupational Therapy or equivalent
- Registration with HCPC
- Membership of relevant Professional Body
- Evidence of experience in the form of an up to date professional development portfolio
- Attendance at relevant clinical post graduate courses taught often at modular Masters level and relevant to all core specialities
- Practice Placement Educators training / clinical supervisors training
- Leadership training
- NHS experience
- Completion of junior and senior Rotational Programmes (minimum of 18 months in each), or equivalent, working in a wide variety of acute and chronic physical settings
- Experience of working with a variety of therapeutic approaches
- Experience of audit and service review
- Experience of supervising other staff and students
- Evidence of contribution to clinical education of less experienced staff, assistants and students
- Ability to travel between Kings Mill Hospital and Newark Hospital
- Ability to drive
- Car owner
