Finance Business Partner (Income)
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Finance Business Partner (Income) to lead and protect the Trust’s income position at a senior strategic level.
This is a pivotal role within the Finance Directorate, providing expert leadership across all aspects of NHS income, including commissioner contracts, provider‑to‑provider agreements and specialised commissioning. You will be the Trust’s technical authority on the NHS Payment Scheme
, tariff and counting and coding rules, ensuring income is accurately planned, validated, reported and maximised.
You will take responsibility for monitoring and reporting income of approximately £1.6bn per annum
, ensuring strong controls, robust audit trails and high‑quality forecasting.
You will:
- Provide strategic leadership for all income streams, including commissioner contracts, provider‑to‑provider agreements and specialised commissioning
- Lead the Trust’s annual income planning process and support long‑term financial modelling
- Oversee the full monthly income assurance cycle, including validation, reconciliation and reporting
- Lead and develop the Income Team, setting high standards of performance, assurance and customer service
- Act as a senior adviser to the Deputy Director of Finance, CFO and executive colleagues on income risks, opportunities and system changes
- Represent the Trust in negotiations and discussions with ICBs, NHS England, DHSC and external providers
