Sherwood Forest Hospitals are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Materials Management Operative to join our dynamic Procurement team.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient supply of consumable items across our hospital sites. You'll be expected to work to tight deadlines, follow strict procedures, and demonstrate initiative and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities- Visit designated clinical areas weekly to take stock using barcoding systems and PDAs.
- Ensure timely and accurate ordering of stock items in line with agreed levels.
- Unpack, check, rotate, and store stock appropriately.
- Support annual year-end stock takes.
- Assist with standardisation and rationalisation initiatives.

Person Specification Contractual Requirements- Willing to work flexible hours when required
- Full driving licence
- Willing to undertake further training and qualifications as required in the post
- Knowledge of purchasing and associated procedures within a large, complex organisation
- Understanding of stock control procedures or inventory management systems
- Knowledge relating to the safe receipt and custody of goods, together with an understanding of the importance of goods receipting procedures
- Understanding and use of Word and Excel packages and other computerised purchasing systems
- Knowledge relating to general office procedures
- An awareness of the laws relating to Health and Safety at Work
- Educated to G.C.S.E. level or equivalent
- ECDL
- Training undertaken in Manual Handling, and Health and Safety at Work
- Experience with in a materials management or goods receipt and distribution function within a complex environment or large organisation
- Stock control and stock rotation procedures
- Experience of general office duties, i.e. filing, dealing with mail
- Previous NHS experience
- Previous experience of computerised purchasing and materials management systems
- Use of e-mail and the Internet
