  • Legal right to Work:
    In accordance with Home Office guidance, successful candidates must evidence their right to work in the UK before commencement of employment.
  • Medical Clearance - Pre-placement health assessment (PPHA)
  • Car Documentation - The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasional basis, but are not essential to the role. If you do drive, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work, as well as provide all the appropriate documentation.

    You will receive an allowance per mile of business use.
  • Qualification - To hold or be willing to undertake and achieve a Level 3 Health and Social Care Diploma (QCF)
  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance - this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Information provided by you or the DBS will be dealt with in a confidential manner and in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice which can be viewed here.

About the Role

The Reablement team provides a life‑changing service to the people of Manchester by helping them to regain or attain as much independence as they can in their own homes. Our Reablement Support Workers do this by motivating and inspiring people to re‑learn daily skills and enhance their quality of life.

You will be fully trained to assist people to meet their care needs, which can range from motivational support to personal care. This is a community‑based role and involves travelling to support people in their own homes.

The position of Reablement Support Worker is for Central Reablement covering the Central Manchester area. Successful candidates will be expected to work citywide when required.

You will work to individualised support/goal plans, with the aim of encouraging people to do these things for themselves, wherever possible. We also promote and supply tech equipment to help people.

This role involves shift work that meets the needs of the citizens, typically 8.00–14.00 hrs and 16.00–22.00 hrs. Successful applicants will work on a rota provided in advance to cover shifts that also include weekends and bank holidays. The successful candidate will be required to commit to the rota pattern.
