Senior Nurse Medical Prescriber & Clinical Specialist (B7-8a Dev Role)

This is an exciting opportunity for a non-medical prescriber (nurse or pharmacist) who is keen to support the ADHD Pharmacological branch of the neurodevelopmental team within the children and young person’s service (ages 6-18 years).
The role could be either a Band 7-8a development role or an 8a role depending on experience.
The Neurodevelopmental Service opened its doors in 2022 and, as a service, we are keen to use the latest research and guidance to provide a high quality approach to supporting need, diagnostic assessments and medication support.
The post holder will work closely with the Consultant Nurse and general manager as the service continues to develop and evolve.
We welcome applications from Registered Nurses (Adult/Child/Mental health/Learning Disability) and Pharmacists.
Main duties of the jobThe role involves supporting the development of the ADHD Pharmacological branch of the service whilst facilitating ADHD diagnostic assessments, ADHD medication initiations, titration, stabilisation, and review clinics. It also includes providing clinical guidance to young people and caregivers around meeting identified needs.
The role also involves utilising leadership skills to support the transformation of the service and staff development.

Person Specification Qualifications- Registered Mental Health/Adult/Paediatric/Learning Disability Nurse/Pharmacist
- Nurse Medical Prescriber (V300)
- Driving Licence
- ADOS or ADHD diagnostic assessment trained
- Attended a leadership course
- Experience of initiating and reviewing Mental Health medication plans
- Experience of working with children/young people, mental health or neurodevelopment
- Experience of prescribing medication
- Experience of facilitating diagnostic assessments for ADHD/ASD
