Interim Day Services Manager - Learning Disabilities

Overview

Interim Day Services Manager - Learning disabilities - 3-month contract. Immediate start required. Ideal base location Bristol/Midlands area. Home based with travel to all sites and possible overnight stays. This is a business-as-usual interim role to cover sickness. You will oversee the day-to-day running and management of operations of various day services throughout England. These day services provide activities and opportunities for adults with learning disabilities to help them set and achieve personal goals, find hobbies they enjoy, and take control of their lives.

• Oversee the day-to-day running and management of operations of various day services throughout England.
• Support activities and opportunities for adults with learning disabilities to help them set and achieve personal goals, find hobbies, and take control of their lives.
• Ensure day services include activities such as gardening, arts and crafts, cooking, and exercise classes, as well as community outings like swimming, shopping, or theatre trips.
• Carry out staff supervisions, auditing, monitoring risk assessments, and ensure record keeping is up to date.
• Provide encouragement to managers and their teams and ensure they have the skills and knowledge to deliver person-centred care.

• Experience of working with adults with complex needs including learning disabilities and autism.
• Either professional experience of, or a keen interest and knowledge of horticulture, gardening, or landscaping.
• Background in social care, managing services for adults with learning disabilities, or running a business or social enterprise offering day services or community activities.
• DBS must be on the Update Service.
