Overview
We are looking for an exceptional midwife for the position of PMRT specialist midwife to join Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. You will join a team committed to strengthening governance to support PMRT requirements and delivering outstanding care to the communities in Bradford. The successful candidate will maximise partnership working with existing team members such as Specialist Midwives for Quality & Safety, Bereavement, Diabetes, Safeguarding and Antenatal screening, and Perinatal Mortality review leads, both within and outside of the organisation.

- Lead on all aspects of PMRT and triangulate data to provide meaningful improvements, share learning and develop action plans.
- Develop key relationships with stakeholders to support improvements; track and follow up actions.
- Support and provide guidance to staff within the service in relation to patient safety to support PMRT.
- Contribute to the quality & safety agenda, linking learning into practice.
- Participate in peer review at regional PMRT meetings.
- Work with obstetric and neonatal teams to meet PMRT requirements; hold responsibility to ensure correct data is captured in the PMRT and learning from reviews is shared broadly with staff within the perinatal service.
- Produce quarterly PMRT reports sharing relevant Trust information.
- Collaborate with the Professional Development Midwives, Bereavement team and the Maternity Quality & Safety Team to achieve improvements in maternal health and birth outcomes.

Work closely with the Quality and Safety Matron, Head of Midwifery and Clinical Director to deliver the key components of PMRT to meet the National Maternity Agenda. To lead on all aspects of PMRT and share attendance with others as an external member for PMRT peer review. To support the service by linking with the Child Death Overview Panel (CDOP) manager, attending meetings as required.
Undertake related Quality, Safety and governance activities within the maternity service as required, completing investigations related to PMRT as requested by the Quality & Safety Matron for the role.
- Meet staff and share learning to achieve compliance.
Ensure compliance is measured through completion of audits in relation to PMRT. Ensure data is analysed and presented to meet time frames.
Provide assurance to the Triumvirate, wider trust and LMNS that the PMRT requirements will be met as required.
Work with obstetric and neonatal teams to meet PMRT requirements; ensure correct data is captured in PMRT and learning is shared with staff within the perinatal service, presenting findings at key forums.
Produce quarterly PMRT reports and share pertinent Trust information.
Work collaboratively with the Professional Development Midwives, Bereavement team and the Maternity Quality & Safety Team to achieve improvements in maternal health and birth outcomes.

- Significant experience of working as a Registered Midwife across a range of settings
- Good understanding and experience of audit
- Experience of teaching

- First level Registered Midwife
