Overview

The Senior Reimbursement Analyst is a key organizational resource responsible for providing critical analytical, review and reimbursement support for reimbursement functions including Medicare, Medicaid, or other third‑party cost reports, related audits, appeals, disproportionate share hospital (DSH) logs, and drug discount program (340B) support. The role includes budget analysis and forecasting net patient service revenue in alignment with state regulatory processes.

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for both governmental and commercial payer reimbursement modeling for the financial statement cycle, requiring the analyst to keep current with all government regulatory changes and federal and state proposals to changes in reimbursement methodologies and payment systems. Based on these changes, the analyst coordinates adjustments to third‑party reserves and summarizes the reimbursement impact on the organization.

The analyst also oversees, organizes, and optimizes accountable care organization (ACO) and other payment reform proposal data that drives strategic decisions for the organization.

Minimum Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting or a related area or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Masters degree preferred.
Minimum Work Experience
  • 5 or more years of experience in health care reimbursement is required.
  • Advanced report writing experience such as Business Objects or Tableau.
  • Experience with CMS regulatory reporting such as Cost Report.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Advanced report writing and analytical skills.
  • Experience using reporting platforms, including Business Objects and Tableau.
  • Experience with Medicare Cost Report filings and audits.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement and industry standard metrics.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Desktop application skills (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, One Note).
  • Demonstrates the ability to set goals and adhere to strict deadlines.
Pay Range

$35.37 - $51.53
