Support Worker, Community Health

Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference every day? Mencap is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Support Worker to join our team in Stowmarket.

In this supported living service, you will support four individuals who live independently in their own homes within a row of terraced houses. The people we support lead active and fulfilling lives, and a key part of this role is helping them maintain their independence while providing support where needed.

Day-to-day support may include helping with cooking and meal preparation, laundry, cleaning, and any other tasks that enable the people we support to live comfortably. You will also support them to enjoy the activities they enjoy, including attending day centres, shopping trips, meals out, cinema visits, weekly trips to the pub, and other social activities in the local community.

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, reliable, and passionate about supporting people to live the lives they choose. A driving licence would be an advantage due to the active nature of the role, although there are good public transport links close to the service.

This role involves a varied rota with shifts between 7am and 10pm, including weekends and sleep‑ins.

Please note: This position does not meet the minimum salary requirements for a Health and Care visa under the UK Skilled Worker route, as set by the Home Office. Therefore, although Mencap is a licensed sponsor, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role
