Overview

Domestic Abuse Support Worker – Floating Support and Safe Accommodation.

Location:

Home based, covering Hereford. Vacancy type:
Permanent, Part time (20 hours per week).

Responsibilities
  • Team brief and plan visits around survivor needs.
  • Use the Empowerment Star to create support plans with survivors.
  • Offer emotional support and wellbeing interventions.
  • Carrying out risk assessments, support planning, actions and goal setting, and regular reviews.
  • Signposting and assisting survivors with finances and benefits.
  • Assisting survivors to source education, training and employment opportunities.
  • Supporting survivors to successfully maintain their tenancy by monitoring rent payments and room cleanliness.
  • Attending multi‑agency meetings.
Qualifications
  • Passion to support survivors and working collaboratively with an eye for detail.
  • Positive attitude, can‑do mindset and zest for supporting people.
  • Experience of creating person‑centred support plans and supporting survivors to work to the plans.
  • Ability to work using initiative, remaining calm under pressure, with a resilient approach.
  • Transferrable skills if new to the sector.

Employment Details

This role sits within Herefordshire Services which includes dispersed safe accommodation and a floating support service. You will hold a caseload of clients across both services. You will be required to work 20 hours a week with flexible days. You will manage your own diary and complete your admin  will need to be confident using technology for creating and updating support plans, collaborating with colleagues and completing online training.
