Secondary Care Psychology Service working with adults with mental health problems. NHS Borders serves a rural population of 115,000 living in the Scottish Borders. The service offers a hybrid working arrangement with clinical hours in person and remote work opportunities.

This permanent post is for 2 days a week, with a hybrid model. The hours are suitable for hybrid working, but there is a requirement to spend clinical hours in the Borders seeing patients in person.

Provide high‑quality local psychology services to adults with mental health problems. Work collaboratively with primary‑care therapy services and the secondary‑care psychology team. Maintain connectivity and support among staff.

As from 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata, with a corresponding increase in the hourly rate to maintain pay. From 1 April 2025, the post may require a different level of criminal records check; if it is assessed as a regulated role it will be subject to the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.

To work in the United Kingdom, individuals must demonstrate a legitimate right to work, provided by the UK Visa and Immigration Service or UK settled/pre‑settled status. NHS Scotland Boards will verify entitlement to work in the UK during pre‑employment checks. Sponsorship may be possible for eligible candidates under the UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa, provided the employer is a licensed sponsor and the role meets the minimum salary threshold.
