Support Worker – North Shields

Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in North Shields.

As a Support Worker you will help individuals with learning disabilities and autism to live independent and active lives. Your duties include assisting with daily activities, providing emotional support, maintaining homes, supporting medication, personal care, social activities, cooking and attending appointments.

• A genuine passion for supporting others.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.

• Part‑time: 20 hours based on availability.

All services are 24‑hour care. Rotas are prepared at least 4 weeks in advance.

• Days:
  Between 07:00‑22:00.
• Sleep‑in available with an enhanced flat‑rate payment of £63.70.
• All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.

Due to the nature of this service we are seeking female‑only applicants. This post is exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1.
