Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced

Chief Medical Scribe (Team Leader)

to lead a team of 10-15 medical scribes supporting a multi-specialty US-based clinic. This role blends

hands-on scribing expertise with operational leadership , ensuring high-quality clinical documentation, efficient workflows, and strong provider satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience in

US healthcare documentation , proven ability to manage distributed teams, and strong communication skills to interface directly with physicians and stakeholders.

This role reports to the

Operations Head

and plays a critical role in driving

accuracy, turnaround time (TAT), and overall team performance .

Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Operations Management
Manage and oversee a team of 10-15 medical scribes (live + offline)
Plan and execute

shift scheduling and resource allocation

based on client requirements (US time zones)
Monitor and drive

productivity metrics

(charts per day, TAT, utilization)
Ensure optimal distribution of workload between

Live scribing and Offline scribing.
Act as the primary escalation point for operational challenges

Hands-on Scribing & Process Expertise
Actively contribute to scribing (live and/or offline) as needed
Maintain a strong understanding of

multi-specialty workflows
Ensure accurate and timely documentation within EHR systems such as eClinical

Works (ECW), Epic, and other specialty-specific systems

Quality Assurance & Compliance
Own and drive

QA processes , including regular audits of charts and feedback loops and error correction
Maintain and improve

documentation accuracy standards
Lead

HIPAA compliance training and adherence
Identify trends in errors and implement preventive measures

Client & Stakeholder Management
Serve as the

primary point of contact for US physicians/clients
Drive

provider satisfaction

through responsiveness and quality delivery
Handle escalations, feedback, and continuous improvement initiatives
Align team performance with client expectations and SLAs

Hiring, Training & Performance Management
Conduct interviews and participate in hiring decisions
Design and deliver

training programs for new hires
Develop SOPs, templates, and best practices
Manage performance through regular evaluations, coaching and feedback, and performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) where needed

Metrics & Performance Ownership
Own and drive key success metrics:
Documentation

accuracy %
Turnaround Time (TAT)
Provider satisfaction scores
Team utilization and productivity
Error rates and rework trends

Qualifications/Skills
Experience
Minimum

5+ years in medical scribing

(US healthcare required)
Minimum

3+ years in team leadership/people management
Experience managing

remote teams supporting US clients

Technical & Domain Skills
Strong expertise in medical terminology across multiple specialties and clinical documentation standards
Hands-on experience with

EHR systems

(ECW, Epic preferred) and Communication tools (Slack, Zoom)
Understanding of

HIPAA compliance and data security protocols

Leadership & Communication Skills
Strong ability to

lead, mentor, and scale teams
Excellent

written and verbal communication skills

(client-facing)
Ability to manage

cross-cultural communication (India–US)

effectively
High ownership mindset with focus on

process improvement and efficiency

This role requires you to come to the office in Gurgaon.
Candidates from Delhi/NCR or candidates who are willing to relocate will be preferred.
