The School Based Need (SBN) serviceprovides preventative and early intervention,mental health support for children and young people(CYP) across Surrey, working collaboratively with schools,families and
Mindworksalliance partners. This includes delivery of the nationally funded Mental Health Support Team (MHST) programme.
Due to the continued expansion and development of Surrey's SBN service, we areseekingto further strengthen our innovative leadership team.
The service is continuing to evolve in line with local need and national priorities, including future expansion into colleges and independent schools.
The post holder will work closely with operational, clinical and support service colleagues across SBN,Mindworksandthe organisation to support the safe,effective and responsive delivery of services, alongside the ongoing development,governance and improvement of the wider service offer.
The SBN serviceoperatesthrough a locality and hub model across Surrey. Services are organised into three overarching
Mindworks
Hubs, with Surrey boroughs/localities aligned within these wider hub structures.
Service leadership and operational oversight are aligned at a hub level to support integrated working, consistency and collaboration across the wider system, while local teams delivering services within schools and communities are aligned to specific boroughs/localities to ensure strong local relationships and responsive place-based delivery.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will provide senior operational leadership across south Surrey, covering Surrey Heath,Guildfordand Waverley. The role will support the safe,effective and responsive delivery of SBN services across educational and community settings.
The post holder will contribute to the ongoing development, governance, qualityimprovementand transformation of services. This will includeoversight of operational performance, service delivery, workforce coordination, waiting lists, access targets, data quality, productivity, outcome measures and continuous improvement activity across the locality and wider hub structure.
The role will foster collaborative and integrated ways of working across services, schools and partner agencies, building and maintaining strong working relationships with school leaders, alliance partners, education colleagues, social care and wider stakeholders to support Surrey Mindworksstrategic priorities and delivery in line with the THRIVE framework.
The role will promote a compassionate, inclusive and learning-focused culture that encourages children, young people and families to play an active role in identifying, planning and meeting their needs, ensuring that the voice and experience of CYP remains central to service delivery, quality improvement and decision making.
