Overview and context for the role.
OverviewAt Birmingham Women's & Children's NHS Foundation Trust, we are very proud of the research we carry out to help find cures and better treatments & services for women and children, both now and in the future. The Research Facilitator is responsible for providing study support to ensure high quality clinical and research governance at Birmingham Women's & Children's NHS Foundation Trust.
The post holder will be based within the R&D team at Birmingham Children's Hospital. They will work predominantly with the Research Facilitators, QA team, Principal Investigators, Delivery teams and Research Support services. Some home working can be supported.
Main duties of the job- Support research projects throughout their life-cycle, from expression of interest and early feasibility assessment through to study close-out and archiving.
- Act as the primary R&D point of contact for a portfolio of research projects.
- Manage a number of disease speciality areas within paediatrics and women's health research.
- Set up new research projects within the Trust, including a mix of academic and commercial research, clinical trials, interventional studies, and observational research.
- Negotiate costings and contracts following national policy, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate internal setup activity.

Parkview Clinic is a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) facility in Moseley, for young people aged 11-18 years who require admission due to significant psychiatric difficulties.

Job responsibilities- First level Degree or equivalent experience
- Masters Degree
- Experience of clinical or NHS research environment, including approval, set up and conduct of clinical research studies
- Experience of both commercial and non-commercial research studies
- Experience of project management, working to deadlines and managing own workload
- Previous experience in a facilitation role or equivalent
- Knowledge of governance and legislative framework for conducting clinical research studies, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
