Position: High Intensity CBT Therapist

High Intensity CBT Therapist

The closing date is 03 July 2026.

We are looking for full‑time and part‑time therapists to work within our Cannock and Stafford teams in the Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Wellbeing Service, part of the Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing patient suitability and formulating, delivering and evaluating evidence‑based CBT interventions for adults with anxiety and depression.
  • Making decisions on referrals and liaising with other health and social care staff to coordinate care.
  • Attending multidisciplinary meetings and contributing to the teaching and training of mental health professionals.
  • Working within the IAPT service with specialist supervision for long‑term conditions.
  • Maintaining professional practice through CPD and, where appropriate, delivering teaching.

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • Postgraduate Diploma in CBT for working with adults (High Intensity IAPT Course) or equivalent.
  • Experience working in mental health services, preferably in primary care.
  • Demonstrated understanding of anxiety and depression presentations in primary care.
  • Professional accreditation with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP); provisional accreditation if qualified within the last 12 months.

Working hours:

Core 9‑5, with therapy sessions from 8 am to 8 pm, Monday‑Friday, and future Saturday mornings. Preference for 60 % office based and 40 % remote work.

Disclosure and Barring Service check required under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
