Job Description & How to Apply Below

Mencap are looking for compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team in Spalding! Due to the needs of the people we support here, we are currently looking for female applicants only.

In this role you will be helping with day to day activities such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, attending appointments, checking mail and managing medication. You will also support individuals to get out and about in the community, doing the things they enjoy most. This can include visits to garden centres, trips to the farm, attending concerts and other social activities. Within the services, people enjoy spending time playing dominoes, taking part in arts and crafts, bingo and gardening, and part of your role will be to encourage and support these interests.

The people we support have a range of needs, and you will be required to work in line with individual support plans. This includes supporting people with personal care, manual handling and mobility, following Speech and Language Therapy plans, and working positively with Positive Behaviour Support plans. Full training will be provided, but a caring attitude, patience and a commitment to person centred support are essential.

As this role involves working across different services in Spalding and supporting people to access the community, a full UK driving licence is required. You must be comfortable driving between services and supporting people with travel as part of their daily lives.

We offer full‑time, part‑time, and relief roles at the service, the shift patterns are varied between 7am‑10pm, sleep‑ins and regular weekend shifts are part of the package too so flexibility is key – but in return, you’ll be part of a supportive, inclusive team where your work is truly valued.

If you are passionate about making a positive difference, enjoy working as part of a supportive team and want a role where you can truly change lives, we would love to hear from you. Join Mencap in Spalding and help us support people to live the lives they choose.

If you would like to know more about what we do, please  to watch our You Tube videos.

Please note:

This position does not meet the minimum salary requirements for a Health and Care visa under the UK Skilled Worker route, as set by the Home Office. Therefore, although Mencap is a licensed sponsor, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role. Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK, as we are not able to support new visa applications or sponsorship requests for this vacancy.

All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
