Position: Band 5 Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP

Qualifications

Applicants will need to have a Talking Therapies Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) qualification for this role. Applicants without a PWP qualification will not be considered.

Working Arrangement

We operate a hybrid model with remote working and face‑to‑face work from the community and from our bases in Devizes or Salisbury. Applicants will be expected to travel to at least one of these locations as required.

Role Overview

The Wiltshire Talking Therapies Service is a community based primary care psychology service working with GP partners to provide low and high intensity therapy. PWPs offer appointments to service users from our bases in Devizes and Salisbury, within GP surgeries, and remotely from home. Appointments are mainly by telephone or video call, with some face‑to‑face meetings. Our integrated working supports close clinical contacts and a team‑based working environment with other health professionals.

We are the lead provider of healthcare for people with serious mental illness, learning disabilities and autism across Bath and North East Somerset (BaNES), Swindon and Wiltshire, and Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

Our staff and teams work incredibly hard delivering services across more than 90 locations, covering 2,200 miles, to more than 1.8 million people.

Responsibilities

Provide high quality assessment and treatments carefully planned to offer a structured clinical day. Deliver clinical skills supervision, case management and line management in line with Talking Therapies guidelines. Offer extra duty support as needed. Engage in specialist areas of interest as a “champion” for topics such as:

  • Support for younger people
  • Equality, diversity & inclusion
  • Service user involvement
  • Wellbeing
  • Other specialist areas
