Role OverviewAs a Dosimetrist – Proton, you will play a critical role in radiation oncology by developing and optimizing radiation treatment plans to support safe, accurate, and effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Importing CT simulations and required treatment data
- Optimizing computer-based radiation dose distributions
- Calculating radiation dose and delivery settings
- Documenting radiation treatment plans as prescribed by the radiation oncologist
- Participating in patient simulation, dose computations, immobilization, and treatment planning
- Assisting in the development of proton, photon, and other radiation treatment plans as needed
Education – Required
- Graduate of a Medical Dosimetry program OR Certified Radiation Therapist with two (2) or more years of on-the-job training as a Medical Dosimetrist
Education – Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Experience – Required
- At least two (2) years of radiation therapy experience
- At least two (2) years of Dosimetry experience
Experience – Preferred
- Proton therapy experience
- Ray Station Treatment Planning System (TPS) experience
Licensure & Certification – Required
- CMD certification OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration OR Radiation Therapy certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
