Education Mental Health Practitioner; EMHP

Position Overview

We are looking for a qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in an evolving service based in schools. You will support the early identification of mental health concerns and promote wellbeing for staff and young people.

• Deliver evidence‑based early intervention for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems in educational settings.
• Work with teaching staff and other professionals to direct best practice in a holistic, child‑centred way.
• Facilitate whole‑school approaches to mental health and embed a positive ethos and attitude to wellbeing.
• Support staff in identifying mental health and wellbeing needs through training and guidance.

• Qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) or Diploma in Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CWP Post Graduate Diploma).
• Completion of a CYP IAPT approved training in Evidence‑Based Psychological Treatment for Children and Young People (C&Y IAPT).
• Accredited and registered with BABCP or BPS.
• Full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use (reasonable adjustments available for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010).
• DBS check required; costs will be deducted from salary over the first two months of employment.

The role operates within a hybrid model, with some remote work and in‑school sessions. You will be part of the expanding Mental Health Support Team (MHST), a joint initiative between health and education services.
