Assistant Psychologist for Home Based Treatment Team

We are seeking two enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Psychologists to join our Psychology Teams across two settings at Atherleigh Park Hospital. One will be based on our inpatient wards and the other with Wigan Home Based Treatment Team (HBTT).

Both roles offer the opportunity to support the delivery of low-intensity psychological interventions for individuals experiencing acute mental health difficulties within supportive multidisciplinary teams.

The inpatient post focuses on embedding psychologically informed care within acute wards, while the HBTT role provides experience delivering assessment and intervention in a fast-paced community crisis service as an alternative to admission.

The post holders will assist with assessment, intervention, audit and service development, under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist.

We offer excellent development opportunities, including regular clinical and group supervision, access to an Assistant Psychologist forum, Trust-wide CPD, and an in-house training programme. There are also opportunities to contribute to research through links with local universities.

We are keen to hear from people with a Psychology degree, experience working with people with mental health difficulties and a strong interest in acute mental health settings. Informal visits are encouraged. Candidates may express a preference for inpatient or HBTT.
