Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is recruiting a Domestic Assistant in the Estates & Facilities team to provide a five‑star cleaning service across trust premises. The role is part‑time, 30 hours per week, and includes bank holidays and weekends.
Main duties of the jobThe Domestic Assistant will:
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in line with the Cleaning Standards for service users, colleagues and visitors.
- Work a five‑over‑seven shift pattern (including bank holidays and weekends).
- Support other team members and adapt to changing cleaning schedules.
LYPFT is the main provider of mental health and learning disability services in Leeds and York, with specialist inpatient services nationally. Employees receive:
- £25,272 per annum (pro‑rated).

The post holder is responsible for delivering a high standard of domestic service to patients, staff and visitors in Clinical/Non‑Clinical departments, either independently or as part of a team.
The Soft FM service is part of the wider Estates and Facilities Directorate. The assistant must be flexible, adaptable and support other staff with clinical responsibilities.
Person specification Knowledge- Basic knowledge of C.O.S.H.H., health and safety and cleaning standards.
- Ability to work to a set cleaning schedule.
- Use of cleaning equipment and materials provided for the job.
- Experience working as part of a team.
- Empathy towards the client group.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and address potential issues before they worsen.
- Willingness to support colleagues when needed.
- Showed kindness or understanding towards others.
Contract:
Permanent (Band
2). Fixed‑term contracts may be offered on a secondment basis for existing NHS employees or colleagues from other trusts. Where not possible, a temporary contract will be issued with a two‑week break in service.
Applicants requiring a UK visa: LYPFT only sponsors registered healthcare practitioner roles, not healthcare support workers. Applicants must meet Trust sponsorship and Home Office visa requirements.
