Job OverviewWe are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our team. You will need to be able to manage a varying and complex caseload of in‑patients and have experience of discharge planning. The post is rotational and involves 9 monthly rotations through a variety of areas including Major Trauma, elective Orthopaedics, trauma Orthopaedics and plastics, surgical rehabilitation, Vascular Surgery and amputee and prosthetic rehabilitation.
You will work 37.5 hours per week over 7 days, supported by a team of experienced Band 7 and 8 therapists. The Department actively supports Continuing Professional Development, with an established appraisal system and a comprehensive in‑service training programme.
Main Duties of the Job- To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work, including management of patients in your care.
- To undertake a comprehensive assessment and re‑assessment of patients including those with diverse or complex presentation.
- To communicate effectively, using a range of verbal and non‑verbal skills, with patients and carers/family to motivate, maximise rehabilitation potential and to ensure an understanding of their condition.
- To plan and prioritise own caseload independently on a day‑to‑day basis to ensure patients are appropriately seen, in conjunction with the priorities of the team and to give assistance to other team members as required.
- To undertake the measurement and evaluation of your own work and current practice through the use of projects, audit or outcome measures, whether individually or with the support of senior staff.
- The job holder is required to participate in the overnight on call rota and will do so once they have completed the relevant induction and achieved the required competencies, (specific rota details are held locally within departments).

Person Specification Education/Qualifications- Degree (or equivalent) in Physiotherapy.
- State registration with the Health Professions Council.
- Evidence of CPD through maintenance of a portfolio.
- Able to demonstrate specialist learning from junior rotations, formal post‑graduate level learning and informal CPD (both general and specific to clinical fields of speciality).
- Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
- Membership of CSP special interest groups relevant to speciality.
- Proven relevant clinical experience in trauma and orthopaedics.
- Broad experience in core physiotherapy specialities required-neurology, MSK, ITU, acute respiratory, surgery, elderly care and trauma and orthopaedics.
- Experience of working as part of a physiotherapy and multidisciplinary team.
