Division of Population Medicine, School of Medicine, College of Biomedical and Life Sciences, Cardiff University.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a member of a National Institute for Health and Care Research-funded study aimed at understanding safety, risks and the balance of harms and benefits arising from care received by patients within their own homes. The study is led by Professor Andrew Carson-Stevens, Professor of Patient Safety, at Cardiff University.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Professor Andrew Carson-Stevens and colleagues from the School of Medicine, the School of Law and Politics, and the Centre for Adult Social Care Research (CARE) at Cardiff University, public contributors, ENRICH Cymru and University College London.
• Lead stakeholder focus groups and interviews with key respondents, and conduct interviews with service users and informal/unpaid caregivers.
• Carry out dissemination activities and contribute to publications and conferences.
• Collaborate with a team of clinical academics, social care representatives and public and patient contributors to discover good caring outcomes within a home-based context.
• Work independently, with support from a Research Assistant.

Qualifications:

• Considerable experience conducting research independently and collaboratively.
• Demonstrated knowledge of realist synthesis and realist methods.
• Proven ability in effective and persuasive communication.
• Ability to support research groups, ensuring attention to detail and adherence to study timelines.

Part time (28 hours per week) fixed term available from 1 July 2026 until 31 August 2027.

Salary: £51,753 – £56,535 pro rata, per annum (Grade
7).
