Overview

We are looking for a qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in an evolving service based in schools, working alongside teaching staff to support the early identification of mental health needs and promote wellbeing for staff and young people.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver evidence-based early intervention for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems in education settings, collaborating with a range of professionals to direct best practice in a holistic, child‑centred way.
  • Assist children and young people in delivering early intervention to prevent the onset of more complex mental health needs.
  • Support and facilitate staff in education settings to identify mental health and wellbeing needs, promoting a Whole School Approach and embedding a positive ethos toward mental health and wellbeing.
  • Participate in the expanding MHST service, a joint initiative between health and education, and deliver services in relevant Nottinghamshire schools.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) or holder of an EMHP/CWP Post Graduate Diploma following completion of a CYP IAPT approved training in Evidence‑Based Psychological Treatment for Children and Young People (C&Y IAPT).
  • Accredited and registered with BABCP or BPS.
  • Full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use; reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
Additional Requirements
  • Applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), deducted from salary over the first 2 months of employment.
  • Encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 applies.
  • The role operates under a hybrid model with some remote work and school‑based duties.
