Main area Secured Services Grade Band 6 Contract Permanent Hours.

37.5 hours per week. Opening

Hours:

Monday - Friday 07:15 - 18:15 and weekends / Bank Holidays 07:15 - 12:15. Coverage includes weekends and bank holidays if required.

Salary: £39,959 - £48,117 pa pro rata. Site: HMP North Sea Camp, Town Boston. Closing date: 16/07/2026 08:00.

Job overview

You will be working within specialist multi-disciplinary services for NHFT prison healthcare, based within the prison mental health team that provides assessment and treatment services for adult male prisoners, including those with neurodevelopmental conditions.

Main responsibilities
  • Assist in identifying and supporting people with neurodevelopmental conditions (Autism, ADHD, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) within the prison.
  • Provide adapted psychosocial interventions and support others in offering them.
  • Hold a caseload of individuals identified with neurodevelopmental needs, ensuring reasonable adjustments to their healthcare and prison life.
  • Advocate for people with neurodevelopmental conditions and promote best practice for their safety and wellbeing on the Neurodiversity Pathway.
  • Work independently with support from a Neurodiversity Clinical Lead, Specialist Clinician, and 7 Neurodiversity Practitioners across East Midlands prisons.
  • Improve outcomes for people with ND across all prisons served by Notts Health Care, meeting national specifications for primary and mental healthcare.
Security vetting
  • Proof of continuous UK residency for a minimum of 3 years prior to application.
  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check required; re-check every 3 years; registration with DBS Automatic Update Service required.
  • Annual DBS fee reimbursed under Trust policy.
Interview and assessment
  • Registered as RMN / RNLD on the NMC Register.
  • Experience of working as a nurse following Perceptorship.
  • Experience and knowledge of working in a secure environment (desirable but not essential).
Application requirements
  • Autonomously assess and manage patient care/caseloads.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with contemporaneous record keeping.
  • Ability to administer medications.
  • Proficiency in using Systm One.
