Twilight Veterinary Care Assistant – Mi Night Vet Chester
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a passion for animals to join us as a twilight veterinary care assistant on a 12‑month fixed‑term, part‑time contract (average 19.25 hours a week) with a 2‑week rota pattern.
Schedule
:
Week 1:
Monday, Tuesday (7 pm–11:30 pm), Saturday & Sunday (7 am–3:30 pm)
Week 2:
Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (7 pm–11:30 pm)
The Role
The Patient Care Assistant role is a foundation of an outstanding veterinary practice. You will support a team of qualified RVNs and Vets to provide excellent care to patients.
Key Responsibilities- Walking patients
- Supporting with physiotherapy for recovery
- Bathing patients
- Feeding patients
- Weighing patients
- Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the hospital
- Keeping areas of the hospital stocked
- Holding for procedures such as bloods, IV placement
- Running samples in the lab
- Helping reception to cover meetings/lunches
- Assisting sterile service technicians with kit/theatre cleaning
- An excellent communicator with strong empathy
- Excellent customer service skills and experience dealing with members of the public
- Resilience and the ability to cope with potentially distressing and emotional situations
- A positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
- Experience in a veterinary environment; night‑shift experience desirable
- Salary in line with the National Minimum Wage plus allowance for an annualised hours contract
