Job overviewAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time (18.75 hours per week) Band 6 Paediatric Research Nurse to join the Paediatric Diabetes research team at Addenbrooke's Hospital on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. We are one of the UK's leading centres for immunotherapy research in type 1 diabetes, conducting pioneering clinical trials for children, young people and adults.
The post holder will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused clinical research studies investigating type 1 diabetes. They will play a key role in recruiting participants to, and delivering, clinical trials of immunomodulatory therapies in children and young people with type 1 diabetes.
The successful applicant will join a nationally recognised multidisciplinary research team at the forefront of immunotherapy research, helping to shape the future of type 1 diabetes prevention and treatment.

Main duties of the jobRecruit, consent and support children, young people and families participating in immunotherapy clinical trials for type 1 diabetes.
The post holder will undertake the day-to-day management of clinical research studies, including identifying and recruiting eligible participants, performing research assessments, providing information and support to participants and their families, and completing study-specific administrative tasks. All work will be conducted in accordance with study protocols, ICH Good Clinical Practice, relevant clinical trials legislation and the NHS Research Governance Framework.
The post holder will participate in patient and public involvement and engagement activities and liaise with multidisciplinary colleagues and external organisations, as required.
