We are looking for qualified health care professionals to join as a disability assessor, carrying out assessments for PIP or WCA on behalf of the DWP. You will move away from frontline treatment into a position that combines your clinical expertise with analytic report writing. This is a hybrid role. After an initial training period (fully home based for 6‑12 weeks), you will move to a 50/50 split spending approximately half your working week in the office and the other half at home.
Keyresponsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments with claimants via face‑to‑face, telephone, or video appointments.
- Explore how a claimant’s physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory impairments affect their functional ability in daily living or work‑related environments.
- Use clinical reasoning to probe and clarify inconsistencies in medical evidence, ensuring all relevant information is captured.
- Adapt different communication styles to support claimants with anxiety, hearing loss, language barriers, etc.
- Produce clear, concise, and evidence‑based reports to support the DWP in their decision making.
- Complete quality reports (PIP‑3 per day) (WCA‑5 per day) within required time scales.
- Maintain objectivity and impartiality throughout.
- We do not offer or provide sponsorship.
- Qualified health care professional with current, unrestricted registration with the NMC or HCPC.
- Minimum 12 months of post‑registration clinical experience.
- Competent IT skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Excellent communication skills.
