Monday to Friday, with a share in the Weekend rota
A specific Laboratory Technician role within our Molecular Diagnostics department is advertised to help accommodate a new test being launched by the laboratory. You will be part of a dynamic, high-throughput diagnostic team and your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Sample Preparation:
Pre-treatment of clinical samples ready for processing. - DNA extraction:
Purification of DNA from FFPE tissues and glass slide FNA samples. - PCR:
The set up of qPCR testing targeting specific genetic regions of canine mast cell tumours - Post amplification analysis:
Melt-curve analysis of PCR products. - Report writing:
The generation of tailored reports for interpretive use by oncologists and first opinion practitioners. - Equipment Maintenance:
Ensuring all equipment is functioning properly and maintained according to standards - Record Keeping:
Maintaining clear and accurate records to support the timely reporting of results - Communication:
Acting as a key liaison to ensure smooth information flow between colleagues, managers, and other departments

- Full training will be provided for the selected candidate, so no previous experience is required.
