Do you have previous experience of working in Occupational Health?

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Occupational Health team as a Band 6 OH Nurse Advisor.

We are looking to register reliable individuals with previous OH experience or transferable clinical experience which would allow for quick competency sign off for skills such as Immunisation Screening Questionnaires (ISQs), contact tracing / outbreak management, immunisations, sharps / splashes and blood taking. On site in-house training will be provided.

Experience of management referral appointments, health declarations and health surveillance recalls / screening is desirable but not essential.

We currently have two placements available – one Full Time (37.5 hours per week) and one Part Time (25 hours per week week). Flexibility may be possible with regards to hours. The placements are Monday to Friday only during core office hours 08:00-16:00 in our purpose-built OH and Wellbeing building (opposite Long Road Sixth Form College) on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

The placement will be for a period of three months initially for July, August and September 2026.

Main duties of the job

To work as a Senior Nurse within a multidisciplinary team of Occupational Health professionals, providing a high-quality need based Occupational Health service to Cambridge University Hospital (CUH) and external organisations.

To be responsible for the provision of specialist Occupational Health clinical services and to advise employees on the prevention of ill health and other aspects of work–related health problems.

The nature of the job will occasionally require for you to travel off site, often with equipment, so independent mobility throughout East Anglia is essential. You will also be required to work outside contracted hours in the event of an outbreak or pandemic.
