Willow A is a new general medical ward based at the Cumberland Infirmary. The ward has 29 beds and we are looking for enthusiastic clinical support workers who want to come and join our new team.

We are looking for dedicated and caring health care assistants to come and work within our friendly team. You will assist the nurses and ward staff in the day to day delivery of all care needs to our patients.

Willow A ward is a friendly team of nurses and clinical support workers who work very closely with all other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

• Ensure the nutritional needs of the patient are met by assisting them to eat and drink. Also by helping them complete their daily menu card. Be aware of increased nutritional needs. Record accurately nutritional and fluid intake, reporting concerns to Registered Nurse.
• Ensure privacy and dignity at all times.

As a Clinical Support Worker, your main responsibilities include providing person‑centred care, monitoring vital signs, assisting with mobility, preparing meals, and ensuring a clean and safe environment. You will also record observations, administer medications as appropriate, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support recovery and wellbeing. • Level 3 vocational qualification or short courses and completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care duties.
• Theoretical knowledge.
• Experience of a range of care and related procedures.
• Clinical observations.
• Knowledge of data protection legislation and health and safety at work legislation.
• National Care Certificate or commitment to complete within 12 weeks of commencing employment.
• Numeracy and Literacy Level 2.
• Undertaken relevant additional training for Clinical Support Workers.

• Experience of working in health or social care.
• Experience of undertaking and recording clinical observations and escalating changes or findings.
• Working knowledge of legislation underpinning care provision.
• Understanding of the importance of robust, accurate, clear, timely documentation.
• Insight into behaviours and skills of a carer and the need for effective teamwork.
