The OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to support an Adult Community Mental Health Service in the West Midlands.
This opportunity offers a full-time temporary contract with a Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm structure (10 PAs), providing consistent and well-organised work within a community mental health environment. It is well suited to candidates with experience in adult community psychiatry, who are confident managing complex caseloads, undertaking Mental Health Act work, and working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
You will be working alongside established clinical teams, supporting day-to-day service delivery and contributing to safe, effective patient care.

Duration: Until 31/07/2026 - Shift Pattern: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm (10 PAs)
- Pay Method: PAYE
- Additional Notes: Must hold AC/RC approval, Section 12 approval, and be able to drive. No hybrid/remote working available.
- Deliver high-quality consultant-level psychiatric care within a community mental health setting
- Provide outpatient care and undertake home visits (5.5 PAs per week)
- Participate in MDT meetings and provide support to team members (1 PA per week)
- Manage emergency clinical work as required (1 PA per week)
- Undertake Mental Health Act assessments and complex patient reviews (1 PA per week)
- Complete Supporting Professional Activities (1.5 PAs per week)
- Support day-to-day clinical operations and contribute to efficient patient flow
- Carry out assessments, interventions, and treatment plans in line with best practice
- Work collaboratively with nurses, psychologists, social workers, and the wider MDT
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in line with NHS standards
- Identify and elevate clinical concerns appropriately
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, effective, and well-functioning clinical environment
- Active GMC registration with licence to practise
- AC/RC approval and Section 12 approval – essential
- Relevant recent UK experience in Adult Community Mental Health
- Ability to work independently and as part of an established MDT
- Strong clinical judgement, communication, and professionalism
- Role-specific requirement: ability to drive for community visits
- Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)
