Position:
Healthcare Assistant
Reports to:
Enrolled Nurse / Nursing Aide
- Prepares residents for baths and performs bath assistance.
- Assists residents needing help to toilets/bathrooms.
- Performs personal hygiene duties for residents.
- Transferring residents to dining area and to bed.
- Cleans and tidies residents after their meals.
- Tidies up residents' beds daily.
- Changes bed linen weekly or as necessary.
- Checks and changes diapers, performing routine checks every 4 hours.
- Assists meal serving, feeding, and clearing crockery.
- Moves residents to and from dining area, rehabilitation room, and dormitories.
- Attends to resident needs and responds to call bells.
- Delivers soiled used linen to laundry before off duty.
- Distributes commodes/urinals/bedpans to residents at night.
- Reports incidents or obvious physical body changes to EN/NA.
- Performs rounds to ensure residents comfortable and resting.
- Fills pitchers with boiled water in the morning.
- Assists Activities Coordinator with games and social recreational activities.
- Attends mandatory in‑house monthly training programmes.
- Attends monthly clinical staff meetings.
- Performs any other duties directed by the Nurse Manager/Director of Nursing.
- Preferably Basic Cardiac Life Support trained.
- Relevant nursing qualification, e.g., Caregiver Certificate (Nursing).
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar nursing‑home position.
- Strong communication skills with staff at all levels.
