The Psychology-led Staff Support service in NHS Dumfries and Galloway has received additional board funding for further posts demonstrating NHSDG’s commitment to staff wellbeing. The service offers psychological therapy to the workforce across NHS and IJB and this post will be instrumental in improving the wellbeing of the workforce.
The service is highly thought of across both organisations and offers a vital service. The postholder’s role will be to offer evidence-based and effective assessment, formulation and psychological therapies.
The Department, which now has a complement of around 90 staff, has psychologists and psychological therapists in all major specialties and is a friendly, supportive and lively place of work. We currently have strong links with Edinburgh and Stirling/Dundee Universities and take trainees from the Edinburgh Doctorate course and from the MSc course in Stirling/Dundee. We also provide placements and supervision for trainee CBT and other psychological therapists.
The post has dedicated CPD and supervision time.
Due to the nature of this post, remote working is offered with some time in office depending on service or clinical need.
