The post holder will be part of a multi‑disciplinary team, contributing to the effective provision of Perinatal Mental and Infant Mental Health Services to an identified caseload of women. The core purpose of the team is to deliver high‑quality, tailored assessment and interventions in maternal mental health and attachment‑based approaches to mothers and infants. The service will play a key role in raising the profile and standards of mental health care for expectant and newly delivered mothers across universal and specialist services.

We are a supportive service that offers training in perinatal mental health and a robust supervision model.

This post is to caseload hold in the Cheshire East patch of our service. However the team covers the whole of the trust footprint and therefore a willingness and ability to travel is essential.

This role will involve remote working/hybrid working, but will require working from the office on certain days.

This post is part time – 18.75 hours per week.

• Specialist assessment and interventions for the attachment and bonding of the mother‑infant relationship
• Promote the parent‑infant relationship within the team and externally with partner agencies, ensuring the voice of the baby is central to care
• Provide specialist advice and support to the MDT
• Line management and supervision responsibilities
• Provide training internally and externally
• Service development and data management
• Core member of the team to deliver assessment of general mental health need and be on a duty rota for the service

• Registered Nurse/Midwife/RMN.
• Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visiting).
• Documented evidence of continuous professional development.
• Recent Study in Parent/Infant MH.
• NBAS/NBO Trained.
• Nurse Prescribing V100.
• IHV Perinatal Mental Health Training.

• Understanding of attachment theory and its relevance to parent/infant mental health.
• Ability to develop and maintain up‑to‑date, research‑based professional knowledge about Perinatal and Infant MH.
• Understanding of the impact of poor parental mental health on infants and other family members, and the role that health‑visiting services can play in mitigating this.
• Good up‑to‑date knowledge of local services available to pregnant and postnatal women in relation to their mental health needs.

• Current Health Visitor experience.
• Experience supporting mothers with their perinatal mental health, including children and families.
• Experience of delivering training to a range of health and social care professionals.
• Management, Leadership and Supervision experience.
