Job overview

We are looking for a well-organised and enthusiastic individual to join our busy Ophthalmology Surgery booking team.

You must have the ability to work well under pressure, prioritise your workload effectively and have excellent communication skills. You must be able to work both independently and within the team; liaise with staff at all levels in a confident manner and be willing to learn. This is a busy role that would require an individual who can adapt to fulfilling a range of tasks and duties.

Main

duties of the job

You will work within the Ophthalmology administrative team providing an essential support service in relation to receipt and processing of new clinic referrals.

You will provide a focused and responsive contact point maintaining regular links with clinicians, to ensure that

a) Clinic referrals are collated and recorded on the patient electronic record (EPIC) within a timely and accurate manner.

b) referrals are made available for medical triage assessment

c) the decision outcome is processed within the specified time limits.

d) the timely acceptance/rejection/redirection of referrals is monitored

You will provide additional booking support for decentralized ophthalmology subspecialties, primarily AMD.
