Join the Health Regulation Division as an Evaluation Workload Specialist and play a key role in supporting the Health Regulation Division's mission to protect the health, safety, and well-being of vulnerable Minnesotans.

This position is responsible for coordinating, distributing, and monitoring workload related to state-licensed evaluations and incident investigations. You’ll help ensure work is assigned efficiently, timelines are met, and staff across multiple programs maintain a balanced and equitable workload.

In this role, you will directly support the timely completion of evaluations and investigations that help ensure licensed providers meet regulatory standards. Your work will contribute to maintaining accountability, consistency, and fairness across programs—ultimately helping protect vulnerable populations.

Primary Responsibilities Include
  • Coordinate workload selection, assignment, and tracking for state-licensed evaluations and investigations
  • Support equitable workload distribution across:
    • State Evaluation
    • Rapid Response
    • Health Occupations Program
    • Mortuary Science
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Licensing and Enforcement teams to track workload and ensure timely routing and assignment
  • Develop, implement, and maintain scheduling processes across programs and systems

This position is hybrid (telework based out of the new hires home office and their nearest MDH district office). The location of this position will be determined by the top candidate. MDH district office locations include St. Paul, St. Cloud, Duluth, Rochester, Bemidji, Fergus Falls and Mankato.

In accordance with HR/LR Policy #1422 Telework, this position is eligible for up to 50% telework for applicants who live in Minnesota or in a bordering state within 50 miles of the assigned work location. Candidates residing outside of Minnesota further than 50 miles of the assigned work location at the time of application must be able to relocate to Minnesota within 30 days of their start date.

The telework policy may exempt employees who live more than 50 miles from their primary work location from the 50% in-office requirement, depending on job requirements, helping the State of Minnesota access top talent across the state.

Minimum Qualifications

One (1) Year Of Experience Working With Regulated Health Care Providers Or In a Public Health Or Human Services Program Including The Following

  • Working in software systems, such as Microsoft Office Suite, and database management systems
  • Experience in developing and maintaining scheduling
Qualifications To Be Further Assessed During The Interview Process
  • Knowledge of processes and regulations guiding Federal and State investigations and evaluations
  • Ability to think critically; applying appropriate judgment when making decisions under uncertainty or ambiguity.
