The role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Highly Specialised Cardiac Physiologist to join NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde's Cardiac Physiology team. This senior role offers the chance to work within a dynamic and innovative service, delivering high-quality diagnostic and interventional cardiac investigations across a range of clinical settings. You will play a key role in supporting service delivery, leading specialist practice and contributing to the development of both staff and services.

All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
  • Part-time, Permanent
  • You will be based between Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Stobhill Hospital
  • Working Pattern:
    Monday - Friday

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.

Key responsibilities:
  • Perform and independently report complex cardiac investigations including echocardiography and other specialist diagnostic procedures
  • Provide expert clinical leadership and support the day-to-day management of the Cardiac Physiology service
  • Lead and support specialist cardiac device services including patient follow up, programming and clinic coordination
  • Supervise, train and mentor physiologists and support the ongoing development of the wider team
  • Contribute to service improvement, clinical audit, quality assurance and implementation of best practice standards
  • Work collaboratively with cardiologists, nurses and multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure safe and effective patient care
  • Support resource management, equipment maintenance and operational service delivery including deputising for the Cardiac Physiology Manager when required
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
  • Clinical Physiology Degree or equivalent qualification with registration on an appropriate professional or healthcare science register
  • Specialist knowledge and experience in cardiac physiology including echocardiography and cardiac rhythm management
  • Accreditation in echocardiography or cardiac device management, or working towards recognised professional accreditation
